I actually have a Mirena IUD and have been scared of problems occurring for quite some time… I am in the middle of awaiting results from my doctor and am nervous as all heck. Also just filled out the form on here to see if I qualify for compensation.

Wow.. I can’t believe so many other women are also going through what my fiance is. Hopefully enough women file a law suit and make this company PAY.

I think this whole thing is awful… women going through all these health problems just to avoid getting pregnant when they aren’t ready. Makes me think that we should all just stick to condoms.

I know a girl who is 14 years old and at high risk for becoming pregnant due to mental / emotional problems. Anyway, she has the Mirena IUD. She is also in foster care. I am wondering if I should bring up this issue with her social worker or foster parents. I am simply her teacher and it’s probably none of my business, but I do care about my students’ well being.

My sister took Mirena for a while and it lead her to have so many health problems. The worst of it is the permanent damage that was done. She was told by more than one doctor that there was a high chance she will never be able to get pregnant. She had been trying for a while with her husband after her complications were treated. I think it’s completely unfair that a woman takes birth control during a time she can’t afford to have a baby, hoping to have one someday when she is more financially secure… and then finding out she may never be able to have one.
